Create TikTok Instant Messaging ads in Kommo

October 20, 2025

Requirements:

  • A connected TikTok Ads Manager integration in Kommo.
  • A TikTok for Business account with an active advertising account.
  • Any Kommo plan (Base, Advanced, Enterprise, or a 14-day trial).

Limitations:

  • You must create an event set before creating Instant Messaging ads.
  • Only Lead Generation campaigns support Instant Messaging.
  • Supported messenger channels: WhatsApp, TikTok, or Facebook Messenger.

TikTok Instant Messaging Ads allow potential customers to start a conversation with your business directly from a TikTok ad. Users can instantly message you via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or TikTok.

When connected to Kommo:

  • These conversations are automatically received as leads in your CRM.
  • You can track, manage, and reply to messages without leaving Kommo.
  • Kommo sends event data back to TikTok Ads Manager to improve tracking and ad performance insights.

Important: You must install the TikTok Ads Manager integration in Kommo to use this feature. Check this article to learn how to connect it.

Use cases

  • Generate real-time leads: Start conversations directly from your ads instead of using forms.
  • Automate follow-ups: Use Salesbot to greet and qualify leads automatically.
  • Track ad performance: Monitor event sets and incoming leads right inside Kommo.

Create TikTok Instant Messaging events sets

An event set links your TikTok Ads account to a specific messaging channel (like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or TikTok). It defines where leads are sent after clicking your ad and helps TikTok track key actions—such as starting a chat, placing an order, or completing a payment—to improve ad targeting and performance.

To create an event set:

  1. Go to Integration marketplace → search for TikTok Ads Manager.

  1. In the TikTok Messaging Ads box, click Manage.

  1. Click + Add a new event set.

  1. Select an ad account, then choose the messenger channel you want to connect. This channel is where users will message you when they click your ad.

If you don’t have the channel integrated yet, click Connect a channel to install it.

Important: Your TikTok for Business account is where you manage all your ads on TikTok. There you can create multiple ad accounts — each one used to run and track specific campaigns.

  1. Click Save.

Done! You’ll now see the new event set listed in your integration settings.

You can delete one or more event sets anytime by selecting them and clicking Delete.

Note: Deleting an event set won’t stop your ads from running — but new leads won’t be tagged with the TikTok Ads Manager label, and no events will be sent back to TikTok.

Set up event sets in the digital pipeline

You can automatically send events to TikTok using triggers in your digital pipeline.

This helps sync more actions between Kommo and TikTok, improving ad tracking and performance.

Note: Events like conversations and user rejections are sent automatically based on the event set and don’t need to be configured.

To set a trigger:

  1. Go to Leads and click Automate.

  1. Hover over a pipeline stage and click + Add trigger.

  1. Search and select TikTok Ads Manager.

  1. Choose a trigger condition (for example, After moved to this stage) and select an Ads account.

  1. Select one of the event sets that you previously created in the widget. If your event set doesn’t appear, make sure it’s linked to the same TikTok Ads account.

  1. Choose which events you want to send to TikTok. You can select one or multiple events, depending on what you want to track. Try matching them with your pipeline stages — for example, send Qualified Lead when a deal reaches your qualified stage.

Here are the events you can send:

  • HighIntentConversation: When a user shares a phone number, email, or meets your criteria for a high-intent lead.
  • QualifiedLead: When a user shares both phone and email, or meets your qualification criteria.
  • DisqualifiedConversation: When a user can’t be reached or isn’t interested in your product or service.
  • PlaceAnOrder: When a user places an order (not yet completed).
  • CancelAnOrder: When a user cancels an order (not yet completed).
  • CompletePayment: When a user completes a payment. TikTok recommends this for cases where the order and payment happen at the same time.
  • Schedule: When a user books an appointment.
  • PayDeposit: When a user pays a deposit to book an appointment.
  • CompleteAppointment: When a user completes the appointment and makes the final payment.
  • AddPaymentInfo: When a user adds payment details during checkout.
  1. When you’re done selecting, click Done.

Each event you track helps TikTok understand how leads progress in your pipeline — giving you better insights and ad performance data.

If you delete the event set linked to a trigger, the trigger will stop working. In this case, you’ll see a + Create new event set button in the event set field:

The same will happen if there are no active event sets connected to the selected Ads account.

Once your events start sending, you can easily check their performance in TikTok Ads:

  1. Go to TikTok Ads.
  2. Click on Tools → Events Manager.

  1. Open the Data sources tab to see all the events sent from your Kommo integration.

Create Instant Messaging ads in TikTok

Before you start, make sure you’ve:

  • Installed and connected the TikTok Ads Manager integration in Kommo.
  • Created at least one event set in the integration.

Once that’s done, follow these steps to create your first Instant Messaging ad in TikTok:

  1. Log in to your TikTok Ads Manager and select the TikTok for Business account you’ll use for ads.

  1. Go to the Campaigns section.

  1. Click Create.

  1. Choose Lead Generation as your campaign objective, then select Direct messages or phone calls as the campaign type.

  1. Scroll down, name your campaign, and (if using Manual Campaign) set your budget. Click Continue.

  1. In the Ad Group step, select Instant Messaging as the ad format. Then choose your optimization goal — either Clicks or Conversations.

  1. Fill in the Event set details, and select which messenger channel (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or TikTok) users will contact you through.

  1. Enter your Facebook Page ID or WhatsApp number — Kommo will automatically use the event set you created earlier.

  1. Complete the remaining ad settings (creative, button type, tracking) and click Continue.
  2. Create your ad:
  • Upload an existing video or create a new one.
  • Add a Call to Action button.
  • When you’re done, click Publish all to launch your campaign.

Note: If your messages aren’t syncing, try reauthorizing your TikTok Ads Manager integration.

You can track conversations and events directly in TikTok Ads Manager:

  1. Go to Tools → Events → Data sources.
  2. Open your Event set to view analytics and monitor how users are engaging with your ads.

Note: If leads aren’t appearing in Kommo, check that your messenger channel (for example, WhatsApp Business) is correctly integrated.
