Test mode is a preview tool that lets you review how the AI agent responds before it is used in live conversations. It allows you to test replies using your configured knowledge sources, without triggering automations or handoffs.
With this feature, you can review responses, identify missing information, and adjust instructions before enabling the AI agent for real leads.

How to start testing?

Go to the AI agent section and start setting up your AI agent.
To learn how to set it up, check out our guide.

Once the setup is complete, save your agent to start testing.
- On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a phone preview prompting you to send a message to start interacting with the AI agent.
- Send a message similar to what a lead would use to start a conversation.
Note: Previewing in Test mode doesn’t use AI agent credits, so you can test the AI agent anytime — even without a paid package.
Notice that you can also click the Restart button at any time to reset the conversation.
Important: Changes made to the AI agent require you to save the updated configuration before Test mode can be used again.
