Setting up your Welcome message

A welcome message is a TikTok-approved message that automatically greets and accepts new leads when they open a DM chat with your business. It also allows them to send more than the usual limit of three messages.

  • This message must comply with TikTok’s Terms and Policies.
  • The review process is usually quick (almost immediately).
  • The message has a limit of 250 characters.

Note: The Welcome message will be sent to every user that opens your TikTok DMs with, but they will not become leads in Kommo, unless the user sends a message.

  1. To set it up, click Manage in the Welcome message box.

  1. To activate it, enable the Welcome message toggle. A confirmation modal window will appear. Click Enable. Then write your Welcome message, and Send for review.

Note: Although TikTok states that the character limit for a welcome message is 250, the platform calculates characters in a unique way. As a result, messages close to this limit may still exceed it. To avoid issues, we recommend keeping your message well under 250 characters.

After submitting your welcome message for review, you may see one of the following statuses:t

  • In review by TikTok. This process may take up to 3 hours. - Your message is still being reviewed.
  • Approved by TikTok - Your message has been approved. New leads will now see it when they open a DM chat with your business on TikTok.
  • Rejected by TikTok. Please ensure your message complies with the policies. - Your message did not meet TikTok’s Terms and Policies and was not approved.

To resubmit:

  1. Click on the message text.
  2. Make the necessary edits.
  3. Click Send for Review again.

Setting up your Suggested questions

Suggested questions is a feature that allows leads to view up to 3 questions when opening your DM, tap them and get instant answers for them.

  • The questions and answers must comply with TikTok’s Terms and Policies.
  • Questions and answers are shown to leads who have not previously had a conversation with your business yet.
  • Questions have a limit of 80 characters.
  • Answers have a limit of 200 characters.
  1. To set it up, click Manage in the Suggested questions box.

  1. To activate it, enable the toggle. A confirmation modal window will appear. Now, click Add a suggested question.

  1. Now, a modal window will appear. Write your question in the first textbox, add its answer in the second one, and then click Send for review.

  1. After saving them and submitting them for TikTok’s review, you’ll see each item listed along with its current status. From this view, you can also select, edit, or delete them.

The possible statuses are:

  • In review - Still being reviewed by TikTok.
  • Approved - Your question and answer were approved. Leads will see them when they open a DM chat with your business.
  • Rejected - Your question and answer did not meet TikTok’s guidelines and will not be shown to leads.

To resubmit:

  1. Edit the question and/or answer.
  2. Click Send for Review again.

Note: The suggested questions are automatically synchronized in the TikTok app, and you can check them by going to the app Business Suite → Message Center → Suggested questions. If edited in the TikTop app, they are also synchronized in Kommo.
