Connect Apple Messages for Business to Kommo

October 16, 2025

Requirements:

  • An Apple Messages for Business account.
  • Setting your provider as Kommo in your Apple Messages for Business account.

Limitations:

  • Your Apple Messages for Business account must be verified by Apple.
  • You can only send messages to your customers when they initiate a conversation.
  • You cannot send a Forms rich media template to a client that is using a Mac device.
  • Only clients that use Apple devices can reach you through Apple's Messages.

Apple Messages for Business (AMB) is a service that allows companies to communicate with customers through the Messages app on their Apple devices, when they initiate a conversation. Once they send the first message, you will be able to send as many messages as you want, unless the customer deletes the chat from their messaging app.

By connecting AMB to Kommo, you can chat with clients directly in the CRM and take advantage of interactive features.

Supported rich media features:

  • List picker – Lets customers choose from a list of options (like products, services, or store locations) in a chat, instead of typing.
  • Time picker – Offers available time slots for scheduling appointments or deliveries.
  • Quick reply – Pre-set buttons with suggested answers (yes/no, confirm/cancel, etc.) so customers can respond quickly.
  • Forms – Collect customer details (like name, email, or preferences) directly inside the chat with structured input fields.
  • Apple Pay – Customers can securely complete payments directly in the conversation.
  • Authentication – Verify a customer’s identity (e.g., logging in, confirming account ownership) within the chat.
  • iMessage App – Lets businesses integrate mini-app experiences inside iMessage, like loyalty cards, booking flows, or product catalogs.
  • Link Fallback – Provides a standard web link if a feature (like Apple Pay or an app extension) isn’t supported on the customer’s device.
  • App Clip – Launches a mini version of your iOS app directly inside the chat, where customers can experience it instantly without downloading the full app.
  • Rich Links – Expands a shared link into a preview with a title, image, and description, so customers see context (like a product photo, article headline, or location map) before clicking.

Use cases

  • Capture leads automatically — Kommo creates a new lead whenever a customer starts a chat in Apple Messages.
  • Make chats more engaging with Rich Media — use list pickers, time pickers, quick replies, and forms right inside the conversation.
  • Let customers book appointments right within the chat using tools like time picker, App Clips, or iMessage Apps.
  • Make buying easier and faster for your customers with Apple Pay in the chat, while Kommo keeps the full payment history
  • Confirm customer access to your services in the chat safely with AMB authentication.
  • Strengthen your branding with rich links and link fallbacks.

Steps to find your ID:

  1. Go to the Links section and click Copy ID.

  1. In Kommo, paste the ID into the integration widget box and click Connect.

And there you have it! Your Apple Messages for Business account is now connected to Kommo. Once connected, you’ll see all the features available in the integration widget.

Apple Messages for Business features

Now that you’ve connected AMB, you can enrich conversations with rich media features that save time and make chats more interactive.

These features work with templates, which you can create, edit, and manage directly in the integration widget.

Important: Rich media won’t display inside Kommo chats. Instead, you’ll see a placeholder code showing the feature name, number, and template title. Customers on Apple devices will see the full interactive content.

How to set Apple Messages for Business features in Kommo

Let’s go through how you can set up each of the features in the Apple Messages for Business integration.

List picker

The list picker allows businesses to create a list of pre-defined options for customers to choose from when interacting with the business via the Messages app. Clients will be able to pick an option from the list and send it as a message to the company. This feature can help to make conversations more efficient and give customers the ability to quickly communicate their needs to the business.

To create a list picker, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click on List picker > Add new:

  1. Define your Call to Action message: This is a message that is sent to customers with list picker options. You can add photos, a title and write a description.
  2. Add the items: you need to add categories for your list items. Within each category, you can add multiple items including titles, descriptions and images to customize each item. You can add a link to your product if it is listed in your Lists section in Kommo. For that, click Link product and choose an item from your Lists.

Note: To allow customers to select more than one option, enable the select multiple option.

  1. Customize the reply message. This is the message that will be shown on the chat after the customer selects their desired item(s). By tapping on the reply message they will have the option to view a summary of the item(s) they have selected.
  2. Name the template and click Save.

Time Picker

With this feature, customers can easily select from several time slots and add the selected time to their calendar without leaving the messaging app. It is a great option for booking and scheduling deliveries, services, meetings or product demos.

To create a time picker, go to the widget at Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and select Time picker > Add new:

  1. Set the call to action message - this is a message that holds your rich media. It will be sent to a customer and they can access the time slots by clicking it. You can add a photo, title and description.
  2. Tap on Add a date and enter your available time slot. You can enter several dates and time slots. If you want to use your account's timezone, tick the checkbox.
  3. Add a location so an event can be added to the client’s calendar with the provided location.
  4. Enter your reply message - this is a message that the user receives after they submit the dates.
  5. Name the template and click Save.

Quick Reply

Quick reply in Apple Messages for Business is similar to a message with buttons or a simplified version of the list picker. This feature allows users to make a quick selection with a single tap during an ongoing conversation.

To create a quick reply, go to the widget at Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and select Quick reply > Add new:

  1. Name your template: Choose an easy-to-remember to use in chats or inside the bot.
  2. Customize the message where it suggests Select an option.
  3. Create as many response options as you need by clicking on Add an option.
  4. Click Save.

Forms

You can create forms that can be used without leaving the messaging app. Use them for triage flows, customer satisfaction surveys, and account creation or service sign-ups.

To create your form, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click Forms > Add new:

  1. Start by customizing three main pages of the form. You can add photo, title and descriptions:
  • Call to action message - this is a message that is sent to a customer and holds your form.
  • Splash screen - the form's first introduction page.
  • Completed form message - this is a message that is sent after a client submits the form. It also shows the summary of responses when tapped.

Click Next to proceed to the body part.

  1. Customize the body part of your form. Each question is presented as a separate page, this means that there is one page for each question. You can arrange pages into sections (These sections are not visible to clients). Within each question, you can select the answer type option your client will have:
  • Picker - customers can choose from a scrollable list of options in a wheel.
  • Date picker - choose from a scrollable list of dates.
  • Input - customizable text box for customer response, with size and hint options.
  • Multiple select - this allows the client to choose one or more options from a list that includes both text and image options.
  • Single select - same as multiple select, but only one option can be selected.
  1. Create conversation flows based on the After this section options, they can be:
  • Go to (section name) - You can select the section the client will see next.
  • Submit form - The client answers will be submitted.
  • Continue to next section - The client will see the next section based on the section order you set in the integration.

Note: To enable the Go to x section based on answer feature, you must have only one question in that section.

When customizing your form, know that:

  • You can drag and drop pages to change the order.
  • You can duplicate pages or sections.
  • All changes are saved automatically, so when you are done customizing your questions, simply return to the list of your forms.

Important: You cannot send a Forms template to a client that is using a Mac device.

Apple Pay

Businesses can use Messages for Business to provide their customers with a secure and convenient way to buy their products or services through Apple Pay. This means that businesses can ask for payment through the messaging app, and customers can finalize purchases by using Apple Pay directly within the app.

To enable this option for your customers, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business, click Apple Pay:

  1. Provide the following information (you can get them in your Apple Developer Account):
  • Merchant ID
  • Merchant Name
  • Verified Domain Name
  • Payment Gateway URL
  • Base Domain URL
  • Gateway URL
  • PEM File Certificate
  • KEY File
  1. Click Save.

Authentication

With Authentication, or OAuth, customers can safely log in to your service right inside the chat. This lets them grant access to things like their social media profile or email account without ever sharing their password or sensitive details with third-party apps.

To set up OAuth, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click Authentication:

  1. Enter your OAuth profile URL and Client secret key into the corresponding fields .
  2. Customize the preview message by adding image, title, subtitle, and button.
  3. Click Save.

iMessage App

The iMessage App feature allows businesses to create custom apps that clients can use within the Messages App. It provides an interactive and convenient way for customers to access a business's products or services. For example you can send your app to track the orders and the user can open it without leaving the Messages App.

Important: You need an app in the App store to use this feature.

To add your app, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click iMessages App > Add new:

  1. Provide the following information:
  • App ID
  • App Name
  • Team ID
  • Ext Bundle ID
  1. Add URL data - Key and Value. You can add multiple URLs.
  2. Add a Title and Subtitle that will be shown below your app when you send the app on Messages.

Note: you may need the help of your iOS developer to add the app.

Link fallback

With the Link fallback, you can set a preview image to a link that has no manual or automatic preview image, so you don’t send a flat URL to the client, giving it context and branding.

To set a link fallback, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click Link fallback:

Add the image, title, and description that you want your links to have.

Rich Link

A rich link is a feature that allows you to attach previews to specific links, so your client knows the link’s context before clicking.

Note: Rich Links let you customize a URL preview with an image, title, and description. All other links without a Rich Link will automatically show the default Link Fallback preview.

To set a rich link, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click Rich Link > Add new:

Now, set the link’s title, image and URL and click Save.

App Clip

The App Clip is an app preview you can send your client. With this, the client can use your app’s functionality without having to install the full version from the App Store, so they can have a quick experience to, for example, book an appointment, pay an order, register info, just by clicking the link you provide for the App Clip.

To create an app clip, go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Messages for Business and click App Clip > Add new:

You’ll need to provide:

  • URL: the app’s link, that you can get from the Apple store or the app’s website.
  • App Store region: the region where your app is available (USA is set by default).

Note: App Clip and iMessage App might seem similar, but the difference is where they run. An iMessage App works inside the chat to add interactive elements (like catalogs or loyalty cards), while an App Clip opens outside the chat as a lightweight version of your full app for quick tasks such as payments or bookings.
